Dr. Richard Burt '93 '00 Inducted into the NAC

Former student Dr. Richard Burt '93 '00, McWhorter Endowed Chair and Head of the McWhorter School of Building Science, has been elected to the National Academy of Construction (NAC) Class of 2025, one of the highest honors in the industry.

The NAC recognizes leaders who have made significant contributions in construction education, innovation, safety, technology, and professional practice. Dr. Burt has spent his career advancing educational excellence, expanding global learning opportunities, and championing technology-driven approaches to historic preservation.

“This is a tremendous honor, not only for me personally, but also for the McWhorter School of Building Science, Auburn University, and my alma mater, Texas A&M University,” Burt said in July.

Burt was officially inducted at the NAC Annual Meeting in October.
