Shaping Port Arthur’s Future: LAND 112 Final Presentations
On May 2, 2025, students in Landscape Architecture Communication II capped off the semester by presenting bold redevelopment proposals for Port Arthur, Texas.
Their innovative projects tackled pressing urban challenges — from enhancing flood resilience and improving air quality to reducing crime through environmental design. Each solution reflected a commitment to sustainability and community well-being.
Under the guidance of faculty member Sungmin Lee, the course challenged students to navigate the intersection of design and policy through complex, real-world planning scenarios.
